The INO-CAT6A U/FTP cable, designed to optimize INOGENI’s TOGGLE ROOMS XT (4K BYOD/BYOM 3 host switcher for USB/HDMI with an extension) and U-BRIDGE 3 (USB 3.2 GEN1 extender for devices and cameras), is engineered for demanding data transmission, delivering unmatched performance and reliability. This INO-CAT6A U/FTP cable has been tested with HDBaseT 3.0 standard. This solid copper wire cable ensures rapid, stable, and secure data transfer. It is perfect for critical pro-AV applications. Its individually foil-shielded design minimizes external and internal interference. U/FTP Design: The U/FTP (Unshielded Foiled Twisted Pair) construction adds an extra shielding layer around each wire, providing enhanced protection against crosstalk and EMI/RFI. INO-CABLE CAT6A: Unmatched Performance & Stability

INOGENI recommends using the INO-CABLE CAT6A to ensure optimal signal transmission and maximum reliability. While other cable manufacturers may provide varying performance levels, INOGENI’s lab has conducted extensive tests to give you the flexibility to choose your preferred cable brand.

How we conduct the CAT6A U/FTP test

Comprehensive integrity testing of the CAT6a cable with the HDBaseT 3.0 protocol for videoconferencing applications was conducted to ensure flawless performance in high-demand environments. The test involved uncompressed 4K video at30 and 60 frames per second (4K30 and 4K60) and audio data transfer in videoconferencing mode.

The following configurations were utilized:

USB transmission via HDBaseT-USB3 for the U-BRIDGE 3
USB and HDMI transmission via HDBaseT 3.0 for the TOGGLE ROOMS XT.

Data transfer was maintained at a high bit rate, including 4K60, over a continuous 2-hour transmission period. This rigorous evaluation ensures that the CAT6a cable consistently delivers reliable, high-performance data transfer for critical AV and conferencing setups.

NOTES:

We do not recommend using a crimp tool for attaching terminations. Instead, we highly recommend utilizing toolless terminations to ensure the preservation of signal integrity.
The measures above are taken from a direct point-to-point connection without patch cords. If your install uses patch cords, the range and signal integrity might be reduced depending on the type of patch cord used. For example, CAT7 patch cords are better in terms of signal integrity conservation than CAT6A.
HDBaseT 3.0 recommends CAT6A U/FTP cables. They offer the best range and signal integrity.
CAT7 and CAT6A S/STP cables seem to be the best alternatives without significant distance loss.
Not all CAT6A cables work well with HDBaseT 3.0.
Bare/structural cable is ~30% better than stranded cable.
