HDMI is electrically compatible with the CEA-861 signals used by digital visual interface (DVI), no signal conversion is necessary, nor is there a loss of video quality when a DVI-to-HDMI adapter is used. Even if both DVI and HDMI are electrically compatible, the content of these standards are different. The INOGENI converter decodes both DVI and HDMI content. You only need to connect a simple adapter to grab HDMI content.

We support VGA, component and composite video on each of our analog capture devices.

If your device has a VGA input, you must use a VGA to component adapter in order to capture your component source. If your device has a DVI input, you must use a DVI to component adapter in order to capture your component source. You can capture composite video if you use the green connection of the same adapter.

Note that the DVIUSB product does not support analog video.

ClickShare will automatically connect to the USB speakerphone as soon as it detects it. This will then remove audio from the HDMI output. This problem can be solved by disabling the USB audio interfaces on the INOGENI device.

All you have to do is uncheck “Host USB audio” box in our app under the “Audio” tab.

Yes. You can check the following sample code in order to try the INOGENI with OpenCV v2.4.9. Please note that the current sample code will only work with YUY2 (4:2:2) formats. In order to capture formats like NV12/YV12/I420, you must install ffdshow, which is a codec mainly used for decoding of video. This application will be able to decode these 4:2:0 formats.

Please also note that this software installation can be irrelevant on some systems.

Install it if you run into issues if you are using the OpenCV sample code as is.

‘Macro’ means that the integrator needs to install some firmware in the codec manually.

‘Native’ means that, in Q2 or Q3, the macros will be pre-installed in the codec with the regular codec updates. The integrator will not have to install anything else.

Some kits will have this ‘native’ installation, eventually, (Macro now and native later), but others will always have to be installed manually (Macro only).

Today, all kits need to have the macros installed manually since the native integration is not released yet by Cisco.

You cannot capture 4K under OS X for the moment, the pixel format in 4K is not supported. You can capture 4K under Linux and Windows. You can capture 1080p 4:2:2 under OS X without problems. This MacBook Air has sufficient hardware to capture 1080p and 4K.

4K capture is not possible on OS X because it is related to OS X. Using your Mac with Windows/Linux to capture 4K will be possible.

You can of course use your Mac to capture 1080p with QuickTime//ffmpeg under OS X because the 4:2:2 format is supported under OS X. You can also use ProRes.

According to some Sony A7S models, PAL will not work. If you buy this device in the US, PAL will not work. The device is known to work fine using 4K in NTSC mode.

1. You have to make sure that you clicked on the Apply button in INOGENI’s Control App after you are done writing the new name.
2. You must carry out a power cycle of the device.
3. In the device manager, under Camera, right-click to erase the device. Then, complete a power cycle. The friendly name should appear.
4. In Microsoft Teams, you need to Quit the session. In the task bar, right-click on the Teams icon and select Quit (just closing the page won’t work). Zoom should be okay after the power cycle

Yes, the SHARE2 and all INOGENI converters are compatible with this software.

Yes. You can check the following sample code in order to try the INOGENI with OpenCV v2.4.9. Please note that the current sample code will only work with YUY2 (4:2:2) formats. In order to capture formats like NV12/YV12/I420, you must install ffdshow, which is a codec mainly used for decoding of video. This application will be able to decode these 4:2:0 formats.

Please also note that this software installation can be irrelevant on some systems.

Yes, you can capture 4K under OS X. You must make sure you are running under macOS High Sierra (10.13) in order to detect 4K capture resolutions. Applications like OBS will detect 4K resolution.

Yes. All of our devices are supported by the ClickShare. ClickShare will capture video from our devices at 720p@30fps using MJPEG compression. Here are some details you might be interested.

For all our devices use USB 2.0 cables and extenders to ensure the use of MJPEG.

For SHARE2 and SHARE2U:

• You can plug the devices to any USB ports on the ClickShare device.
• The SHARE2 and SHARE2U can be used as an Audio Bridge to join microphone/speaker.
• To enable 720p set the DIP switch #1 to ON under the device

For CAM300:

• You can plug the devices to any USB ports on the ClickShare device.
• You cannot use the CAM300 as a speakerphone. Only video capture is available.

The devices support electret microphone (no phantom power supported). The bias voltage sent to the microphone is about 0.9V. The pinout of the audio jack is (left side INOGENI device, right side microphone):

Please note that both tip and ring are usually shorted together on electret mic with this kind of audio jack, so the exact pinout between TIP and RING is not a concern.

‘Macro’ means that the integrator needs to install some firmware in the codec manually.

‘Native’ means that, in Q2 or Q3, the macros will be pre-installed in the codec with the regular codec updates. The integrator will not have to install anything else.

Some kits will have this ‘native’ installation, eventually, (Macro now and native later), but others will always have to be installed manually (Macro only).

Today, all kits need to have the macros installed manually since the native integration is not released yet by Cisco.

No. The INOGENI converters don’t require any external power supply. They draw its power from the USB 3.0 port. Only the 4KX-PLUS and the U-CAM have external power supplies to remain active even without USB connection to a laptop.

Click on the arrow of the Play button.

There, by default, you can select encoding scheme and audio data rate. By default, it will encode using H.264 & MP3. You can verify if it is working by choosing a destination file and by hitting Start.

Tried it. No go. Clicked on the Edit selected profile of Convert. Shows “This muxer is missing. Using the selected profile will fail.” Web search seems to indicate bug of the VLC Windows build. No newer version currently available. You could also use ffmpeg, which is the best recording framework.

You cannot capture 4K under OS X for the moment, the pixel format in 4K is not supported. You can capture 4K under Linux and Windows. You can capture 1080p 4:2:2 under OS X without problems. This MacBook Air has sufficient hardware to capture 1080p and 4K.

4K capture is not possible on OS X because it is related to OS X. Using your Mac with Windows/Linux to capture 4K will be possible.

You can of course use your Mac to capture 1080p with QuickTime//ffmpeg under OS X because the 4:2:2 format is supported under OS X. You can also use ProRes.

According to some Sony A7S models, PAL will not work. If you buy this device in the US, PAL will not work. The device is known to work fine using 4K in NTSC mode.

In order to capture formats like NV12/YV12/I420, you must install ffdshow, which is a codec mainly used for decoding of video. This application will be able to decode these 4:2:0 formats.

Please also note that this software installation can be irrelevant on some systems.

Unfortunately, the ClickShare system and Toggle auto-switch feature do not work together since the ClickShare VBUS signal is always present regardless of the Standby/Sleep mode.

The next CX-50 Gen2 model will enable the TOGGLE auto-switch function. It should be available by Q3-2023.

No. Cisco even recommends disabling the macro if you update your CODEC to the latest version.

This is most likely a configuration issue on the Cisco codec. A quick test would be to swap the HDMI outputs (HDMI to 4KX-PLUS and PC) at the codec side to see if video shows up correctly. If this solves the issue, check again the “Web Interface setup guide” document.

ClickShare will automatically connect to the USB speakerphone as soon as it detects it. This will then remove audio from the HDMI output. This problem can be solved by disabling the USB audio interfaces on the INOGENI device.

All you have to do is uncheck “Host USB audio” box in our app under the “Audio” tab.

Yes. You can check the following sample code in order to try the INOGENI with OpenCV v2.4.9. Please note that the current sample code will only work with YUY2 (4:2:2) formats. In order to capture formats like NV12/YV12/I420, you must install ffdshow, which is a codec mainly used for decoding of video. This application will be able to decode these 4:2:0 formats.

Please also note that this software installation can be irrelevant on some systems.

Please note that both tip and ring are usually shorted together on electret mic with this kind of audio jack, so the exact pinout between TIP and RING is not a concern.

‘Macro’ means that the integrator needs to install some firmware in the codec manually.

You cannot capture 4K under OS X for the moment, the pixel format in 4K is not supported. You can capture 4K under Linux and Windows. You can capture 1080p 4:2:2 under OS X without problems. This MacBook Air has sufficient hardware to capture 1080p and 4K.

4K capture is not possible on OS X because it is related to OS X. Using your Mac with Windows/Linux to capture 4K will be possible.

You can of course use your Mac to capture 1080p with QuickTime//ffmpeg under OS X because the 4:2:2 format is supported under OS X. You can also use ProRes.

According to some Sony A7S models, PAL will not work. If you buy this device in the US, PAL will not work. The device is known to work fine using 4K in NTSC mode.

Yes, you can. Be sure to use the latest avconv build by visiting https://libav.org/ in order to avoid any issues.

In order to capture formats like NV12/YV12/I420, you must install ffdshow, which is a codec mainly used for decoding of video. This application will be able to decode these 4:2:0 formats.

Please also note that this software installation can be irrelevant on some systems.

Yes, you can capture 4K under OS X. You must make sure you are running under macOS High Sierra (10.13) in order to detect 4K capture resolutions. Applications like OBS will detect 4K resolution.

Yes. All of our devices are supported by the ClickShare. ClickShare will capture video from our devices at 720p@30fps using MJPEG compression. Here are some details you might be interested.

For all our devices use USB 2.0 cables and extenders to ensure the use of MJPEG.

For SHARE2 and SHARE2U:

• You can plug the devices to any USB ports on the ClickShare device.
• The SHARE2 and SHARE2U can be used as an Audio Bridge to join microphone/speaker.
• To enable 720p set the DIP switch #1 to ON under the device

For CAM300:

• You can plug the devices to any USB ports on the ClickShare device.
• You cannot use the CAM300 as a speakerphone. Only video capture is available.

The devices support electret microphone (no phantom power supported). The bias voltage sent to the microphone is about 0.9V. The pinout of the audio jack is (left side INOGENI device, right side microphone):

‘Macro’ means that the integrator needs to install some firmware in the codec manually.

‘Native’ means that, in Q2 or Q3, the macros will be pre-installed in the codec with the regular codec updates. The integrator will not have to install anything else.

Some kits will have this ‘native’ installation, eventually, (Macro now and native later), but others will always have to be installed manually (Macro only).

Today, all kits need to have the macros installed manually since the native integration is not released yet by Cisco.

No. The INOGENI converters don’t require any external power supply. They draw its power from the USB 3.0 port. Only the 4KX-PLUS and the U-CAM have external power supplies to remain active even without USB connection to a laptop.

4K capture is not possible on OS X because it is related to OS X. Using your Mac with Windows/Linux to capture 4K will be possible.

You can of course use your Mac to capture 1080p with QuickTime//ffmpeg under OS X because the 4:2:2 format is supported under OS X. You can also use ProRes.

According to some Sony A7S models, PAL will not work. If you buy this device in the US, PAL will not work. The device is known to work fine using 4K in NTSC mode.

The Barco and INOGENI engineering teams recently collaborated together to release an application note to explain, step-by-step, how to optimize the TOGGLE BYOD/BYOM switcher in a Barco ClickShare environment.

This document describes common use cases where you can connect the Toggle with ClickShare Conference system and a variety of compute systems.

Unfortunately, the ClickShare system and Toggle auto-switch feature do not work together since the ClickShare VBUS signal is always present regardless of the Standby/Sleep mode.

The next CX-50 Gen2 model will enable the TOGGLE auto-switch function. It should be available by Q3-2023.

ClickShare will automatically connect to the USB speakerphone as soon as it detects it. This will then remove audio from the HDMI output. This problem can be solved by disabling the USB audio interfaces on the INOGENI device.

All you have to do is uncheck “Host USB audio” box in our app under the “Audio” tab.

Yes. All of our devices are supported by the ClickShare. ClickShare will capture video from our devices at 720p@30fps using MJPEG compression. Here are some details you might be interested.

For all our devices use USB 2.0 cables and extenders to ensure the use of MJPEG.

For SHARE2 and SHARE2U:

• You can plug the devices to any USB ports on the ClickShare device.
• The SHARE2 and SHARE2U can be used as an Audio Bridge to join microphone/speaker.
• To enable 720p set the DIP switch #1 to ON under the device

For CAM300:

• You can plug the devices to any USB ports on the ClickShare device.
• You cannot use the CAM300 as a speakerphone. Only video capture is available.
• To enable 720p set the DIP switch #1 to ON under the device

For 4KXUSB3 & 4KX-PLUS:

• You must plug the device to the USB-C port on the ClickShare device.
• You can use the 4KXUSB3 as an Audio Bridge to join the microphone/speaker.

For 4K2USB3, HD2USB3 and SDI2USB3:

• You must plug the device to the USB-C port on the ClickShare device.
• You cannot use the devices as a speakerphone. Only video capture is available.

While in Microsoft Teams, you can click on: More/Settings/Call Health.

This Call Health panel has been designed to make it easier to analyze issues that you can have with the audio/video/content sharing/network quality by providing a list of parameters, such as round-trip time, packet loss, frame rate, and CODECs. You can see that Microsoft Teams will change the resolution depending of the quality of the network and if you’re screen sharing or not.

Yes. You can check the following sample code in order to try the INOGENI with OpenCV v2.4.9. Please note that the current sample code will only work with YUY2 (4:2:2) formats. In order to capture formats like NV12/YV12/I420, you must install ffdshow, which is a codec mainly used for decoding of video. This application will be able to decode these 4:2:0 formats.

Please also note that this software installation can be irrelevant on some systems.

Install it if you run into issues if you are using the OpenCV sample code as is.

The Windows 10 April 2018 update introduced the Camera privacy settings, which can turn off access of softwares to cameras and microphones. In order to enable this feature, you must turn it on. Click Start and then search for Camera Privacy Settings. Then turn on the Allow apps to access your camera.

You can turn on your microphone by clicking Microphone on the left pane of the window and then click on Allow apps to access your microphone.

Yes, you can capture 4K under OS X. You must make sure you are running under macOS High Sierra (10.13) in order to detect 4K capture resolutions. Applications like OBS will detect 4K resolution.

You can use the AVRecorder sample code in order to do that. It is based on “AVFoundation” framework, compatible with OS X and iOS operating systems.

You need to upgrade your firmware to a version >= 5.5 in order to solve this issue.

On the SHARE2/SHARE2U, since there is no AEC, the USB audio device is not detected as a speakerphone device, but as a digital audio input and speaker. This way the AEC of the soft codec, like Zoom or Teams will be enabled. An external DSP with AEC can also be used.

One (1) stereo uncompressed audio source is supported.

You have to update your INOGENI device to a release version equal or greater than 3.08. After the update, your device will be detected in Lync 2013.

INOGENI products don’t change the synchronization between the audio and the video. Incoming audio and video must be synchronized, or you must synchronize them after the INOGENI products. When using a DSLR, an external microphone may introduce delay because the signal is processed in the camera. A wireless microphone takes more processing time to encode, transmit, decode and then place the audio signal. This may cause an audio delay. Simplest workaround: Modify the captured file and generate another file with a negative audio delay.

Before 2021, the HDMI input of SHARE2U and CAM300 was limited to 1080p30. If you input a 1080p60 signal, the HDMI LED on the front panel blinks.

Note that a new upgraded version of these products that supports 1080p60 on the HDMI input will be available by mid-2021.

First, you have to match the input format to the format sent to VLC Media Player. For example, if you send a 720p60 format from the camera, you have to set the dongle to 1280×720:

You cannot capture 4K under OS X for the moment, the pixel format in 4K is not supported. You can capture 4K under Linux and Windows. You can capture 1080p 4:2:2 under OS X without problems. This MacBook Air has sufficient hardware to capture 1080p and 4K.

4K capture is not possible on OS X because it is related to OS X. Using your Mac with Windows/Linux to capture 4K will be possible.

You can of course use your Mac to capture 1080p with QuickTime//ffmpeg under OS X because the 4:2:2 format is supported under OS X. You can also use ProRes.

First of all, make sure that the input format of your video source matches the one on the USB side, which is on the Mac. Second, make sure to disable the underscan/overscan setting on your graphic card, which is on the Windows side. This setting seems to be the cause of this letterbox.

According to some Sony A7S models, PAL will not work. If you buy this device in the US, PAL will not work. The device is known to work fine using 4K in NTSC mode.

While in Microsoft Teams, you can click on: More/Settings/Call Health.

This Call Health panel has been designed to make it easier to analyze issues that you can have with the audio/video/content sharing/network quality by providing a list of parameters, such as round-trip time, packet loss, frame rate, and CODECs. You can see that Microsoft Teams will change the resolution depending of the quality of the network and if you’re screen sharing or not.

1. You have to make sure that you clicked on the Apply button in INOGENI’s Control App after you are done writing the new name.
2. You must carry out a power cycle of the device.
3. In the device manager, under Camera, right-click to erase the device. Then, complete a power cycle. The friendly name should appear.
4. In Microsoft Teams, you need to Quit the session. In the task bar, right-click on the Teams icon and select Quit (just closing the page won’t work). Zoom should be okay after the power cycle

No. The INOGENI products was using the UVC driver provided by the operating system. If you are on a Windows 7 operating system, be sure to have the latest driver for your USB controller. In a Windows 8 operating system, the USB drivers are provided by Microsoft, so make sure to install the latest Windows updates.

You can’t capture it live in Adobe Premiere Pro. You can, if you save it to a supported format, import it into Premiere Pro and edit it. So it depends on the software you use to capture it. Meanwhile, Adobe Premiere Elements is supported

Even if the INOGENI converter has been thoroughly tested, new motherboards and USB 3.0 chipsets can lead to minor problems. INOGENI always work hard to correct minor bugs reported by users by releasing new firmware updates. Also, we are still adding new features to our product. We suggest to use the latest USB 3.0 driver from your computer manufacturer if you have Windows 7. We also suggest to use the latest drivers for your computer chipset and your graphic card in any operating system. In summary, please use the latest drivers from your manufacturer!

Is your microphone level is at 100%? You can check by doing a right click on your volume icon at the bottom right corner and selecting Recording devices.

Then, choose the Recording tab, right-click on the INOGENI device and select Properties.
In the Level tab, you can change the level to an optimal one in order to cancel the noise.

Attached is a custom firmware that you can use with the INOGENI Control App. It will change your audio device to a standard “Digital audio interface” instead of a microphone. The input level will be acceptable even at 100%. This digital audio interface will be added to the next official firmware release.

In the Adobe Connect software, you have to select Meeting / Preferences… and in the Video section choose Wide Screen (16:9) option. This will solve your issue.

Yes, we support USB 2.0 on all of our products. However, since the USB 2.0 bandwidth (480Mb/s) is less than the USB 3.0 bandwidth (5Gb/s) , you will not be able to handle Full HD capture. You will need to reduce your resolution and frame rate in order to have an acceptable content.

Yes. There is a maximum of 2-frames delay introduced by the dongle due to its frame buffer.

The INOGENI dongle has an intrinsic 2-frames delay. There will be another delay introduced by the UVC driver of the operating system. In 1080p60 -> 1080p60, we can have a minimum of 66ms delay between the HDMI input and the rendered stream. In 4K30 -> 4K30 I420, we can have a minimum of 133ms delay between the HDMI input and the rendered stream. In order to reduce this latency, be sure to use the simplest application with the simplest video graph.

First, try to change the video cable. If the issue is still present, please try to change the USB cable. If the issue persists, try to update your device with the latest firmware available on our website.

According to some Sony A7S models, PAL will not work. If you buy this device in the US, PAL will not work. The device is known to work fine using 4K in NTSC mode.

Find the unique ID number in the INOGENI Control App by connecting your device. It is mandatory to submit your unique identifier number in order to have the upgrade key necessary to unlock 4K functionalities.

Then, complete the application form on our website to receive the upgrade key needed to unlock the 4K features. The upgrade fee is $95 USD. Once payment is made, the upgrade key will be sent to you with instructions on how to upgrade your HD2USB3.

That means the device is bricked and that you must install a driver in order to communicate with the INOGENI product again. You can use the INOGENI Control App in order to install Westbridge driver and reprogram the device completely. After the programming process, your device will be unbricked.

It is very important to use a well-made USB 3.0 cable, like to one included in the INOGENI package. Our tests revealed that the device is more robust to USB low level errors using a certified USB 3.0/SuperSpeed cable than a regular USB 3.0 cable. Low level errors are responsible of the video freeze and detection problems.

First, USB 3.0 is a standard for interfacing computers and electronic devices. Among other improvements, USB 3.0 adds the new transfer rate referred to as SuperSpeed USB (SS) that can transfer data at up to 5 Gbit/s (625 MB/s), which is about ten times as fast as the USB 2.0 standard. Manufacturers are recommended to distinguish USB 3.0 connectors from their USB 2.0 counterparts by blue color-coding of the Standard-A receptacles and plugs,[2] and by the initials SS.[3]

Second, it is recommended to visit your computer manufacturer website to see if USB 3.0 connectivity is available. Most of USB 3.0 connections are blue and have a logo near the connector.

It is important to use USB 2.0 active adapters that claim to be USB 2.0 at 480Mbps. Generally, they come with their own power supply.

HDMI is electrically compatible with the CEA-861 signals used by digital visual interface (DVI), no signal conversion is necessary, nor is there a loss of video quality when a DVI-to-HDMI adapter is used. Even if both DVI and HDMI are electrically compatible, the content of these standards are different. The INOGENI converter decodes both DVI and HDMI content. You only need to connect a simple adapter to grab HDMI content.

We suggest to use the latest USB 3.0 driver from your computer manufacturer if you have Windows 7. We also suggest to use the latest drivers for your computer chipset and your graphic card in any operating system. In summary, please use the latest drivers from your manufacturer!
