ClickShare will automatically connect to the USB speakerphone as soon as it detects it. This will then remove audio from the HDMI output. This problem can be solved by disabling the USB audio interfaces on the INOGENI device.

All you have to do is uncheck “Host USB audio” box in our app under the “Audio” tab.

This Call Health panel has been designed to make it easier to analyze issues that you can have with the audio/video/content sharing/network quality by providing a list of parameters, such as round-trip time, packet loss, frame rate, and CODECs. You can see that Microsoft Teams will change the resolution depending of the quality of the network and if you’re screen sharing or not.

1. You have to make sure that you clicked on the Apply button in INOGENI’s Control App after you are done writing the new name.
2. You must carry out a power cycle of the device.
3. In the device manager, under Camera, right-click to erase the device. Then, complete a power cycle. The friendly name should appear.
4. In Microsoft Teams, you need to Quit the session. In the task bar, right-click on the Teams icon and select Quit (just closing the page won’t work). Zoom should be okay after the power cycle

The application running on PC will not be able to detect the connected camera when the INOGENI device is in the path. This is a hardware limitation.

That means the device is bricked and that you must install a driver in order to communicate with the INOGENI product again. You can use the INOGENI Control App in order to install Westbridge driver and reprogram the device completely. After the programming process, your device will be unbricked.

These applications are mirroring the video because Apple finds that more useful. Keep in mind that if you want to send your video content during a meeting, the video will appear correctly on your partner’s side.

Yes. You can check the following sample code in order to try the INOGENI with OpenCV v2.4.9. Please note that the current sample code will only work with YUY2 (4:2:2) formats. In order to capture formats like NV12/YV12/I420, you must install ffdshow, which is a codec mainly used for decoding of video. This application will be able to decode these 4:2:0 formats.

Please also note that this software installation can be irrelevant on some systems.

You can install easily gstreamer using an ArchLinux distribution like Manjaro. The gstreamer source code is already in the official repositories of ArchLinux.

According to some Sony A7S models, PAL will not work. If you buy this device in the US, PAL will not work. The device is known to work fine using 4K in NTSC mode.

The INOGENI product can downscale from 4K to 1080p using the hardware video scaler. The device will scale the input to anything what the user has selected on the application side.

You need to upgrade your firmware to a version >= 5.5 in order to solve this issue.

We suggest to use the latest USB 3.0 driver from your computer manufacturer if you have Windows 7. We also suggest to use the latest drivers for your computer chipset and your graphic card in any operating system. In summary, please use the latest drivers from your manufacturer!

The INOGENI dongles do not record video or audio internally.

INOGENI products don’t change the synchronization between the audio and the video. Incoming audio and video must be synchronized, or you must synchronize them after the INOGENI products. When using a DSLR, an external microphone may introduce delay because the signal is processed in the camera. A wireless microphone takes more processing time to encode, transmit, decode and then place the audio signal. This may cause an audio delay. Simplest workaround: Modify the captured file and generate another file with a negative audio delay.

Any HDMI splitter will work with the INOGENI, we have used the low cost ViewHD HDMI Splitter on Amazon.

Yes, both the Icron Spectra 3001 active cable and Spectra 3022 fiber optic USB 3.0 extenders were tested and work perfectly well with INOGENI converters.

In the Adobe Connect software, you have to select Meeting / Preferences… and in the Video section choose Wide Screen (16:9) option. This will solve your issue.

First of all, make sure that the input format of your video source matches the one on the USB side, which is on the Mac. Second, make sure to disable the underscan/overscan setting on your graphic card, which is on the Windows side. This setting seems to be the cause of this letterbox.

Yes, you can capture 4K under OS X. You must make sure you are running under macOS High Sierra (10.13) in order to detect 4K capture resolutions. Applications like OBS will detect 4K resolution.

On the SHARE2/SHARE2U, since there is no AEC, the USB audio device is not detected as a speakerphone device, but as a digital audio input and speaker. This way the AEC of the soft codec, like Zoom or Teams will be enabled. An external DSP with AEC can also be used.

Yes, all of the INOGENI devices are compatible with Zoom Rooms. However, only the 4K2USB3 device can be detected as a HDMI sharing device or camera. The other INOGENI devices are detected as cameras. Zoom Rooms works also fine with INOGENI devices under Windows and macOS. Be sure to use Zoom Rooms v4.4.x or later.

We tested the Newnex FireNEX™-uLINK (FIRENEX-ULKP16) series USB 3.0 active extender and this one is working fine with all of our products. You can extend your USB 3.0 connection up to 16m/52.4ft.

The Windows 10 April 2018 update introduced the Camera privacy settings, which can turn off access of softwares to cameras and microphones. In order to enable this feature, you must turn it on. Click Start and then search for Camera Privacy Settings. Then turn on the Allow apps to access your camera.

First, USB 3.0 is a standard for interfacing computers and electronic devices. Among other improvements, USB 3.0 adds the new transfer rate referred to as SuperSpeed USB (SS) that can transfer data at up to 5 Gbit/s (625 MB/s), which is about ten times as fast as the USB 2.0 standard. If your device has a VGA input, you must use a VGA to component adapter in order to capture your component source. If your device has a DVI input, you must use a DVI to component adapter in order to capture your component source. You can capture composite video if you use the green connection of the same adapter.

Note that the DVIUSB product does not support analog video.

Yes, we support USB 2.0 on all of our products. However, since the USB 2.0 bandwidth (480Mb/s) is less than the USB 3.0 bandwidth (5Gb/s) , you will not be able to handle Full HD capture. You will need to reduce your resolution and frame rate in order to have an acceptable content.

We designed an application in order to control SHARE2/2U or CAM series devices using the USB or LAN interface. You can get the INOGENI Control App in the Support – Software tools section of this website.

It is very important to use a well-made USB 3.0 cable, like to one included in the INOGENI package. Our tests revealed that the device is more robust to USB low level errors using a certified USB 3.0/SuperSpeed cable than a regular USB 3.0 cable. Low level errors are responsible of the video freeze and detection problems.

By setting SW3 to the ON position below the device, you can set the device frame buffer frequency to 50Hz. This switch will also set the USB input capture to a valid frame rate in order to avoid any artifacts.

Yes, the SHARE1 offers two video interfaces over USB in order to capture two video streams simultaneously.

– If you capture two 1080p60 feeds, the frame rate on both stream will drop to 30.
– If you capture 1x 1080p60 and 1x 720p60 feeds, the frame rate of the 1080p60 stream will drop to 30.

Find the unique ID number in the INOGENI Control App by connecting your device. It is mandatory to submit your unique identifier number in order to have the upgrade key necessary to unlock 4K functionalities.

Then, complete the application form on our website to receive the upgrade key needed to unlock the 4K features. The upgrade fee is $95 USD. Once payment is made, the upgrade key will be sent to you with instructions on how to upgrade your HD2USB3.

Below the device, there are switches. You need to turn on SW1 and power cycle the unit in order to make it work with GoToMeeting.

This switch allows you to support multiple video formats over USB like 720p and 1080p. When this switch is off, 1080p is the only format supported and GoToMeeting/Webex/StarLeaf does not seem to support 1080p. GoToMeeting/Webex/StarLeaf* supports 720p. The SW1 in OFF position is the default mode. We did that in order to have maximum quality over video conferencing softwares.

* Using StarLeaf, you will need to have access to the switches below the device. Set SW1 to the ON position, power-cycle the unit and close / reopen StarLeaf software in order for changes to take effect.

First, you have to match the input format to the format sent to VLC Media Player. For example, if you send a 720p60 format from the camera, you have to set the dongle to 1280×720:
Open VLC.
Click Media >> Convert/Save.
Select Capture device tab.
Select INOGENI as the video and audio device name.

Yes, the dongle will scale 1280×1024 to 1024×768. It will also convert the frame rate to what is selected on the USB side, which has a maximum of 60Hz.

INOGENI products use the generic UVC driver of the operating system. If your embedded platform supports UVC or any other webcam, the INOGENI will be compatible.

Yes, it does. Devices like an Apple TV, Chromecast or Fire TV encrypt their video output and the INOGENI dongle cannot decode from them. Most of Blu-ray players encrypt their output even if the content is not HDCP-compliant.

HDMI is electrically compatible with the CEA-861 signals used by digital visual interface (DVI), no signal conversion is necessary, nor is there a loss of video quality when a DVI-to-HDMI adapter is used. Even if both DVI and HDMI are electrically compatible, the content of these standards are different. The INOGENI converter decodes both DVI and HDMI content. You only need to connect a simple adapter to grab HDMI content.

The INOGENI dongle has an intrinsic 2-frames delay. There will be another delay introduced by the UVC driver of the operating system. In 1080p60 -> 1080p60, we can have a minimum of 66ms delay between the HDMI input and the rendered stream. In 4K30 -> 4K30 I420, we can have a minimum of 133ms delay between the HDMI input and the rendered stream. In order to reduce this latency, be sure to use the simplest application with the simplest video graph.

The black screen often means that the input sources are HDCP-compliant. Blu Ray players, Apple TV, digital receivers and MHL devices are always HDCP-compliant sources. The INOGENI products are not able to decode such sources.
